about Dr. Shah

Dr. Shah went to Naturopathic school to be of service to mankind; upon graduation, she realized that the entire medicine was yearning to enter into a new paradigm. With blessing from her spiritual teacher, she mobilized this idea of a "gift-economy" clinic and invited some of her local friends.

In addition to formal training at Univ. of Bridgeport, College of Naturopathic Medicine, receiving a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Masters in Nutrition, Aumatma has learned and grown a lot through her time at Nahziryah Monastic Community. In the presence of her beloved teacher, Aumatma has been able to experience health- mental, emotional, spiritual and physical and has lived a health-full lifestyle.

For Dr. Shah, health is a re-balancing of energy patterns in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. A physical symptom, no matter how seemingly menial, is most often a reflection of a deeper underlying issue. A physical symptom is a sign of an energetic imbalance or a blockage of free energy flow in the body.

In this space, healing does not equal curing. Curing is generally a superficial, physical level response of disappearing symptoms (or in a lot of cases, suppression of symptoms). On the other hand, healing is a process in which the patient's commitment and motivation, along with help from a competent life coach/ doctor/ healer, allow the patient to realize a state of body-mind-spirit balance. On this level, although the physical symptoms disappear in time, the patient feels healthier, livelier, and more in balance. Also, the patient will have gained knowledge about maintaining this balance through listening to one's body-mind-spirit rather than finding a new pill to pop for every "new" symptom that manifests in one's life.
